BI Database Analyst
Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Database Analyst to join our Business Intelligence Service. The Service are responsible for delivering Business Intelligence capabilities to drive improvements in performance across the Trust, supporting the wider system and partners, enabling Northamptonshire Health Foundation Trust (NHFT) to be a leading provider of Outstanding compassionate care.
In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the Trust's data-driven decision-making by designing, developing, and maintaining efficient and reliable database solutions. You will leverage your expertise to improving, maintaining, and administrating both the Trusts BI Data Warehouse, and the associated Power BI reporting systems, where the position holder will be expected to utilise their advanced level SQL & Data Architecture skills to manage processes and developments within the current framework.
Main duties of the job
Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Transform data using SQL Server and other tools to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with business rules and NHS data standards.
Monitor database performance and identify/resolve any issues.
Work with Analysts and Developers to enable the production of Power BI reporting.
Collaborate with clinicians, technical and non-technical stakeholders to meet their requirements
Ensure data is maintained to meet the needs of all reporting platforms supporting internal and national submissions.
Implement and maintain data quality checks and controls to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures within the Trust
Identify, and analyse risks to the organisation to ensure business continuity, patient safety and disaster recovery requirements are met.
Act as a subject matter expert for data architecture and data domains, supporting for data-related projects across the organisation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions that meet business requirements and improve patient care.
Support third party suppliers with queries integration and interfaces
Support NHFTs Business Intelligence Service Transformation Programme in the development of data management, data integration and applications management

Qualifications
- Degree level qualification (or relevant experience)
- Post graduate diploma or specialist qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Product Lifecycle Management & Improvement Tools (e.g. PRINCE2/Agile/QSIR)

Knowledge
- Understanding of the local NHS structure, strategy, vision and policy
- Highly developed, in-depth specialist knowledge, underpinned by theory and professional experience of disciplines including technical development over an extended period
