Medical Secretary
Job summary
The post holder will be part of the CAMHS Medic Administrative Team and provides support to designated Senior Clinical/Medical staff within CAMHS.
The post holder will also maintain effective office systems for the delivery and maintenance of Medical Appointments/Reviews. They will be flexible and use their initiative to organise their own workload dependant on the priorities and requirements at the time.
Main duties of the job
To provide a full and efficient secretarial administrative support to identified Senior Clinical/Medical staff within CAMHS.
To maintain SystmOne Rotas, assist in scheduling clinical workloads in conjunction with the Senior Clinician/Medic and liaise with other relevant parties concerning the planning and re-scheduling of appointments as necessary.
To ensure timely production of clinical documents and relevant associated administrative tasks.
To ensure that data is collected, recorded and submitted where required.
Partaking in ad-hoc admin duties, including reception area cover.

Essential:
Knowledge of secretarial and administrative procedures and systems, the majority of which are non-routine, acquired through training and experience to vocational level 3 or equivalent; plus knowledge of specialist functional/medical/legal terms, organisational policies and procedures and knowledge and experience to deal with non-routine issues such as problem solving for an area of work or developing alternative or additional procedures.
Experience of working in a Team.
Experience in managing an office.
Organisational / administrative / secretarial skills and experience at Medical Secretary level.
Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint (or equivalent).
Knowledge of health systems and procedures.
Experience of typing and data entry.

Experience of undertaking audits.

Person Specification
Role requirement
- GCSE Grade 4 & Above or Equivalent Qualification in Maths & English
- Any Administration Qualification.

- Previous Administration experience
- Ability to use Microsoft Packages i.e. Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Previous experience working for the NHS
