Digital Operations Technician
Job summary
As a frontline Digital Operations Technician you'll be working within the Digital Operations Team to support the entire NCA Estate. Providing assistance to your Digital agents within your team. You'll be working together with all teams in Digital to provide the best possible outcomes for our staff.
Responsibilities range from the administration and implementation of network communications, to user system fault-fixing and installation. The post carries additional responsibilities for ensure information security, and work quality assurance. The Digital Operations team focuses on the demand of the people we serve. providing troubleshooting, procurement, and installation of systems and products to meet user requirements and to provide a continual maintenance service, ensuring that systems and products perform as expected.
You will be experienced working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide 2nd line digital system support for both hardware and software related issues for colleagues throughout the Trust.
The role requires excellent face to face customer service, communication, interpersonal skills, and a proven level of technical knowledge of hardware and software applications, with an awareness of other areas such as server and network issues.
You will need to have a car and full UK driving licence.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who has experience managing IT issues, including system accounts, applications and hardware and can provide excellent customer service. The successful candidate will also need to have analytical skills to help drive continual improvement in the team and be continually checking if we are meeting the customers' needs.
- Investigates a range of IM&T issues. Ensuring all work is accurately logged and updated on our Digital ITSM to agreed incident, problem and change management procedures
- Where relevant to advise staff on digital systems and policy.
- To maintain a range of hardware and software supported by the Digital Operations
- Where relevant to assist the colleagues, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of IT systems, and efficient resolution of faults
- Assist, when required, in the delivery of Digital projects and solutions
- Monitor and as required, install, commission and maintain computerised hardware and software systems, networks and telecommunications solutions
- Provide out-of-hours cover for the Trust's business critical systems as part of a rota with others. Be a key-holder and work unsupervised outside of normal business hours
- Work alongside the Digital Operations Engineers to ensure best possible outcome for our NCA staff

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Relevant subject matter qualification (e.g. Microsoft/Cisco/VMWare) or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
- GCSE English and Mathematics grade C or equivalent
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle
- ITIL Foundation
- MSCE
- MCP
Knowledge
- Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) Systems and Expert technical knowledge of IT Hardware such as PCs, tablets and printers
- Knowledge of IT "best practice" standards, procedures, policies and protocols in a customer focused environment
- Knowledge of IT policies and procedures including IT security and disaster recovery in a customer focused environment
- Knowledge of working in a Healthcare IT environment with Experience installing/supporting clinical applications
- Knowledge of the use of information systems within the NHS
Skills
- Proven ability to facilitate the installation of IT systems and equipment with an excellent understanding of Microsoft Operating systems and applications
- Computer literate: Microsoft Office and the ability to utilise varied information resources
