Job summary
We have a great opportunity for a highly motivated, forward thinkingPharmacist or Pharmacy Technician to join a developing Digital Medicines team at a pivotal stage in the Trusts Digital transformation programme. The role sits at the interface of clinical practice, medicines optimisation, and digital transformation, providing digital leadership to support the ongoing developments associated with electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) and the wider Digital Medicines functionality and interoperability.
Led by the Digital Medicines Programme lead you will be responsible for leading on defined elements of Digital Medicines workstreams, providing expert input into system design, configuration, optimisation, interoperability, and governance. to ensure they are clinically safe, effective, and aligned with real-world workflows.
Working closely with pharmacy, medical, nursing, and digital colleagues, you will provide expertise to guide system development, support adoption, and ensure that digital solutions are appropriately embedded within practice.
The role combines leadership with clinical and operational delivery, ensuring digital medicines systems continue to evolve in response to clinical need while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and governance. You will play a role in clinical safety assurance and continuous service improvement, championing best practice in digital medicines management and ensuring technology enhances patient safety.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide operational leadership and management of the Trust's Digital Medicines service, supporting the delivery, optimisation and governance of electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) systems.
The role will be responsible for the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of digital medicines services, ensuring systems are safe, effective and aligned with clinical and organisational requirements.
Working within the strategic framework set by senior leadership, the post holder will lead the delivery of system developments, testing, deployment and optimisation activities, ensuring compliance with clinical safety standards (DCB0129/DCB0160) and governance processes.
The post holder will work closely with clinical, digital and operational teams to support service improvement, user adoption and system performance, contributing to the wider digital medicines strategy.
The role provides line management and professional leadership to digital medicines staff and contributes to programme delivery across the organisation.
There will be a requirement to maintain a level of clinical practice within their area of professional registration

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Registered as a healthcare professional with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Educated to degree level or equivalent and with significant post-registration experience to diploma level, or equivalent demonstrating advanced and specialist knowledge in clinical informatics
- o Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to digital medicines, informatics or leadership
- Qualification in project/service management (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile)
- Clinical Safety Officer training or willingness to undertake
