Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual who has the enthusiasm and ability to work in a challenging but equally rewarding ICT Department as a End User Computing Engineer (Mobiles) . This will involve providing 1st line and 2nd line technical support across the Trust.
It is essential that you are customer focused with a "user-first" approach to deliver service excellence. You must be flexible, enthusiastic and display high levels of initiative, together with the ability to work under pressure both as an individual and as part of a team and undertake your duties with minimum supervision. You must possess good communication skills and be able to deal with users in a pleasant, effective and efficient manner.
Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. Main duties of the job
As part of Digital Services, the Customer & Technical Support Team is responsible for providing technical support for Trust users and devices, ensuring the effectiveness of equipment and software in supporting key applications such as email and clinical information systems. This role utilises excellent technical knowledge and experience to provide flexible support to many tasks within the Customer and Technical Support Team.
To carry out incident and problem diagnosis and resolution for Trust IT equipment and software in accordance with National, Industry and Trust standards with a particular focus on ITIL IT Service Management.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Job responsibilities
To participate fully as a member of the Customer & Technical Support Team to deliver a timely and professional technical support service to all staff, to include:
- Equipment and software installations.
- Diagnosis and resolution of a range of technical issues, identifying and analysing sources of variations.
- Participation in mixed skill teams as required to achieve project goals and deadlines.
- Leadership of small project teams and distributing tasks to other staff where appropriate.
- Planning tasks and activities which may require adjustment due to variable workload and frequent interruptions.
- Maintenance of technical documentation, including the Asset Register.
- Production and maintenance of knowledge base entries covering known issues.
- Testing of IT systems proposed for use within the Trust including applications & hardware.

Person Specification
Physical Requirements
- Have the physical ability to lift, carry or transport infrastructure and network equipment
Qualifications
- Relevant ICT qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional).
- 5 GCSEs A-C including English & Math's or equivalent
- Educated to a degree standard or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
Training
- Working knowledge of the ITIL framework and IT service management best practices
- Relevant technical certification (eg. MCSA) or technical degree level qualification
- ITIL v3 or above Foundation Certificate
Experience
- Experience of working in a customer led ICT service
- Experience in delivering high quality documentation around processes and procedures.
- Experience with ICT hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Experience with iOS device management.
- Familiarity with NHS software and applications
- Experience working within the NHS or a similar healthcare environment
Knowledge
- Awareness of and a willingness to acquire a working knowledge in basic Networking activity
- Awareness of VOIP and Teams Telephony systems
- Awareness of Intune and image deployment tools
- Practitioner knowledge of current Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common end-user applications.
- A working knowledge in Networking tasks such as patching of data points, configuration of port VLANs and Wireless Access Points
Skills
- Ability to work on multiple workstream simultaneously and to agreed timescales
- Ability to work without supervision for prolonged periods of time, implementing planned work to agreed timescales
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff
