IT Technician
NuStaff are seeking an experienced and technically capable ICT Technician to join the IT team at Lincolnshire Police.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting users and working with a broad range of IT technologies. You will provide operational and technical support and advice to users across the organisation, ensuring IT issues and service requests are diagnosed and resolved as quickly and effectively as possible.
You will work across a varied technology environment, including Airwave, telephony, PCs, Windows operating systems, standard and non-standard software, mobile devices and peripheral technologies. You will also play an important role in the deployment, configuration and ongoing support of IT equipment and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional technical advice and guidance to users on the effective use of IT systems, products and services.
- Diagnose, investigate and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues, ensuring excellent customer service throughout.
- Manage and support endpoints using technologies including Microsoft Intune, SCCM, Knox and Azure-based administration.
- Support the management of the Airwave estate using Radio Manager.
- Assist with the management of the Windows operating system lifecycle, including application testing, security controls, encryption, data drive access and feature updates.
- Support the ongoing deployment and refresh of VoIP telephony, laptops, mobile devices, Mobile Data Terminals and other IT hardware.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, asset registers and knowledge-base information.
- Ensure IT systems and equipment remain secure, supportable, fit for purpose and capable of meeting ongoing business requirements.
- Keep users informed of progress and provide clear communication at key stages of their requests.
- Take an innovative and proactive approach to troubleshooting, identifying creative and effective solutions to technical challenges.
- Provide technical assistance and knowledge to support IT projects and implementations.
- Participate in the IT out-of-hours on-call rota, providing assistance to users and colleagues when required.
We are looking for someone with a strong technical background and a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality IT support. You will be confident investigating technical issues, working independently and communicating effectively with users at all levels.
You should have a practical understanding of Windows operating systems, endpoint management, hardware and software support, together with the ability to learn and work with specialist technologies. Experience with Intune, SCCM, Azure, mobile device management, telephony or Airwave would be advantageous.
You will be organised, customer-focused and able to prioritise workloads effectively. Most importantly, you will demonstrate professionalism, integrity and a commitment to the values and principles expected within a policing environment.
Working Hours & Location
- Monday to Friday
- Business hours: 08:00–17:00
- Based at HQ, with an expectation to travel and provide support across the county.
- Participation in the out-of-hours IT on-call rota will also be required.
Pay
- Umbrella rate: £23.73 per hour
- PAYE rate: £17.97 per hour
