Trainer (Information Technology & Creative Design)
Nustaff are currently recruiting an IT and Creative Design Trainer for a police Learning and Development team. You will design and deliver training that keeps the knowledge, skills and behaviours of police officers, staff and volunteers up to date and relevant.
You will focus on a range of IT training programmes, including office productivity and specialist police software such as PNC and NICHE. You will also develop training using innovative technology. You will work alongside other trainers and report to the ICT Training Supervisor.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and deliver IT training for officers, staff, PCSOs, Specials and volunteers
- Create written materials, classroom sessions and learning exercises, using e-learning, online and digital methods where appropriate
- Identify individual and organisational training needs by meeting with line managers and senior police and staff managers
- Assess students fairly against National Occupational Standards and Authorised Practice
- Test students and provide skills coaching and development
- Advise staff on development routes, both internal and external
- Keep accurate records of lesson plans, courses and reference materials in line with the Police Quality Assurance Scheme
- Support the preparation of the Force Training Plan
- Represent the People Department at internal and external meetings when directed
- Keep up to date with national developments, best practice and legislation, and update training accordingly
- Occasionally deliver training in other subject areas as business needs require, with support provided
Essential Criteria:
- A recognised training or teaching qualification, such as Police Trainer Certificate, City & Guilds Further Adult Education Certificate, Certificate in Training Practice or NVQ Level 3 in Learning and Development. Extensive relevant experience with a commitment to achieving a qualification will also be considered.
- IT literate, with knowledge of MS software and an innovative approach to using new technology for learning, including e-learning, online learning, digital media and immersive learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adapting your style to suit the audience
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with a methodical approach to prioritising courses and meeting deadlines
- Ability to identify training needs and design bespoke training interventions
- Ability to manage and teach students of any rank or position, with a good understanding of diversity issues
- A team player who supports colleagues to achieve shared goals
- A current UK driving licence

- You may be asked to support training delivery in other areas when business needs demand.
- Pay: £17.97 per hour (PAYE) or £26.64 per hour (Umbrella)
- Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm
- Working pattern: Hybrid working available
- Start date: ASAP
