Senior Data Analyst

Senior Data Analyst

Remote (UK-based) | Full Time
Nurseplus UK

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our growing data team and take ownership of how Nurseplus uses data to drive decision-making.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is curious, commercially minded, and passionate about turning data into real business impact. You don’t need to know everything from day one — we value people who ask questions, take initiative, and continuously develop their skills.

You’ll act as the Senior analytics voice in the team, working closely with a Data Engineer, a junior analyst, and stakeholders across the business — including Operations, Finance, Compliance, and senior leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting & Dashboards

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Define how the business measures performance across revenue, operations, compliance, and finance
  • Ensure all reporting is accurate, clear, and actionable

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a key link between the data team and the wider business
  • Run workshops to gather requirements and translate them into data solutions
  • Manage and prioritise the analytics backlog
  • Present insights and dashboards to stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Challenge and refine requests to ensure meaningful outputs

Team & Standards

  • Mentor and support a junior BI & Reporting Analyst
  • Set and maintain standards for reporting quality and documentation
  • Review dashboards before release to ensure consistency and accuracy

Data Quality

  • Work with the Data Engineer to define and maintain high data quality standards
  • Identify and escalate data issues
  • Build monitoring tools to proactively flag data problems
  • Own definitions of key business metrics

Digital & Product Analytics

  • Help shape analytics for our digital staffing platform
  • Work with technology and development teams to embed reporting into new products

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a Data Analyst / BI / Analytics role (typically 4+ years)
  • Strong Power BI skills — building reports people actually use
  • Solid SQL knowledge (comfortable writing queries)
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills — able to explain data clearly
  • Strong organisation and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Evidence of continuous learning and self-development

Nice to Have

  • Power BI advanced skills (DAX, Power Query, semantic models)
  • Understanding of cloud data platforms (Azure, Databricks, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data modelling (e.g. star schemas)
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
  • Exposure to tools like Jira
  • Experience in healthcare, staffing, or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with tools like dbt, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform

Who You Are

  • Curious and eager to understand the “why” behind the data
  • Proactive and self-driven
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving priorities
  • Detail-focused and committed to quality
  • A collaborative team player who values relationships as much as results
  • Someone who has grown their skills over time and continues to do so

What You’ll Get

  • Remote-first working with flexibility
  • A key role shaping how a growing business uses data
  • Exposure to a complex, multi-system environment
  • A collaborative team where your work is visible and valued
  • Opportunity to mentor others while continuing your own development
