Application Support Lead Apprentice

Support and maintain live software applications while developing skills in troubleshooting, testing, bug resolution and software delivery. Gain hands-on experience in an AI-assisted development environment, working towards a Level 4 Application Support Lead qualification.

Role

  • Provide first-line support for internally developed software applications and assist in investigating customer-reported issues
  • Reproduce reported bugs and work with developers to help diagnose and resolve application issues
  • Test software fixes before deployment to ensure changes have been fully verified
  • Support both frontend and backend applications, making small, well-tested code changes where appropriate
  • Assist with application testing and quality assurance activities
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation, knowledge articles and release notes to support the wider team
  • Assist in preparing clear customer updates, support communications and resolution notes
  • Use Git and GitHub to manage code changes and collaborate with the development team
  • Work with SQL databases, REST APIs and cloud-hosted applications
  • Support ticket triage and ensure application support requests are managed efficiently
  • Learn  modern software delivery and development practices using technologies including React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker and AWS
