Digital Graphic Designer
Our client, a leading UK retailer have an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about digital graphic design, who is looking to progress in their career. Based at their Orpington Offices Monday to Friday, as a creative and energetic person, you will be part of a super engaged, high performing team, can influence and collaborate on some really exciting projects and be an intrinsic part of the continued growth of a fantastic brand.
You will be responsible for designing and delivering outstanding, digital assets for all digital channels. You will proactively define requirements, iterate on design solutions, and contribute expertise for various design projects. You will have the opportunity to design assets for a wide range of digital platforms (websites, social media, display advertising, CRM emails and eCommerce).
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibilities will include designing digital assets, across all digital platforms, and supplying to the digital team or 3rd party advertisers in the correct formats to hit campaign deadlines
- Full knowledge and understanding of formats across all platforms. Understanding the brief, proactively working with colleagues to deliver designs on time, hitting deadlines and to a high standard
- Participating in design discussions and giving feedback during planning and strategy meetings
- Translating ideas into design proposals, tailored to work across all platforms and channels and in synergy with other non-digital campaigns
- Channels & formats include: Creating digital assets in static, video, motion GIF, and responsive HTML for a range of platforms from social, CRM, display advertising, eCommerce, website, mobile and apps
- Creating and editing Video content with supers/graphics (web site, you tube, social channels, in store digital screens)
- Building and creating CRM/Emails - building to a brief adding your creative flair within brand guidelines
- Creative text or video content GIFs
- Social from stories to reels
- Staying up to date on industry trends and the latest digital design software
- Testing assets and ensuring they are fit for purpose
- Working with CX and populating homepages, landing pages, and email concepts
- Fully understanding the variety of formats required to optimise customers’ digital experience
- Be the internal expert on best practice digital design

Person Specification
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in the design thinking process, agile development, and efficient delivery of output
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment but able to work on their own, using initiative to solve digital dilemmas
- A proven history working in a digital design role
- Agency or Client Inhouse design experience (within a retailer would be beneficial)
- Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, including Indesign, Photoshop, Adobe XD, Adobe Premier, Dream weaver or Adobe Aftereffects
- Working knowledge of CSS and HTML
- A proactive approach, and the ability to overcome hurdles and focus on delivery of projects on time - allowing for stakeholder’s review and feedback
- Strong knowledge of current digital design best practices and web production techniques
- A good understanding of visual design principles
- Proven digital content skills
- Experience creating digital assets for a variety of target audiences
- A strong portfolio showing the breadth of digital design capabilities
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Digital/Graphic Designer
