CT/General Clinical Lead

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a CT/General Clinical Leadto join our Imagingteam based in Hemel Hempstead. You will join us on a full-time, permanentbasis, and in return, you will receive a salary in the range of £48,000.00 - £52,000.00 pa depending on experienceplus benefits.

Main duties of the job

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To lead the CT/General team on operational basis, ensuring the department is well organised and has appropriate staffing levels to deliver a professional and comprehensive imaging service. Maintain a visible presence with patients and staff, fostering an open culture that values high quality care and sound radiology outcomes;
  • Be a proactive presence in the radiology clinic ensuring patient comfort, care and clinical outcome is always the highest priority.
  • Carry out radiology examinations as part of normal duties.
  • Lead and promote the Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) Accreditation Scheme.

About you

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • DCR or BSc in Diagnostic Imaging with HCPC registration with no restrictions.
  • Post Graduate qualification in imaging or working towards.
  • Significant clinical experience in Xray/ CT/Theatre and with radiation protection policies and procedures.
  • Practical experience in team leading.
  • Planning and organisational skills.

Experience

Essential
  • Significant clinical experience in Xray/ CT/Theatre as well as experience with radiation protection policies and procedures.
  • Practical Experience in team leading.
  • Planning and Organisational Skills.
  • Previous exposure and involvement with management and senior medical staff.
  • Evidence of relevant continuous professional development; CPD in line with HCPC requirements.
  • Excellent understanding of the healthcare sector, current issues and trends.
Desirable
  • Experience in Mammography
  • Experience in MRI
  • Good understanding of RIS/PACS administration
  • Private Healthcare sector experience

Knowledge & Skills

Essential
  • Knowledge of CQC and Local Radiology Protection Rules.
  • Sound Clinical skills and judgement.
  • Good IT skills covering Microsoft office applications, departmental systems and patient record systems.
  • Effective Communication skills and proven ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all professional disciplines.

Qualifications

Essential
  • DCR or BSc in Diagnostic Imaging
  • HCPC Registered
  • Post Graduate qualification in imaging or working towards it.
Desirable
  • Leadership / Supervisory Qualification or Training
  • Immediate Life Support Qualification
  • Cannulation training and certification.
