Finance Director
Finance Director – Permanent – Northampton
Job Purpose
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished Finance Director to provide strategic and operational financial leadership across a successful multi-entity UK business.
Reporting to the UK Managing Director and Group CFO, you will play a key role in driving financial performance, business strategy, regulatory compliance and long-term growth. Alongside leading the finance function, you will also oversee the UK IT function and property estate, making this a broad leadership role with significant influence across the organisation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Partner with the UK Managing Director and Group CFO to deliver financial strategy.
- Lead financial management across multiple UK entities, ensuring strong governance and Group compliance.
- Deliver financial planning, investment appraisals, scenario modelling and commercial insight.
- Support business growth through strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, audit and regulatory requirements.
- Manage external audits, internal controls, corporate governance and company secretarial responsibilities.
Budgeting & Business Performance
- Lead budgeting and forecasting across the UK business.
- Monitor performance, analyse variances and provide commercial recommendations.
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting, systems and financial processes.
IT & Property Leadership
- Provide strategic oversight of the UK IT function, working closely with Group IT on technology, cybersecurity and digital transformation.
- Manage IT budgets and supplier relationships.
- Oversee the UK property portfolio, including lease negotiations, renewals and estate optimisation.
Leadership
- Lead and develop the UK Finance and IT teams.
- Drive process improvements and build strong relationships across all business functions.
- Coach and develop talent while promoting collaboration and accountability.

Experience:
Essential
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Senior finance leadership experience within a multi-entity or international business.
- Strong financial reporting, statutory compliance and corporate governance knowledge.
- Company secretarial and business law experience.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting and commercial business partnering.
- Experience overseeing IT functions or technology projects.
- Property and estate management experience, including lease negotiations.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- Manufacturing, engineering, construction products or distribution experience.
- European or Nordic group exposure.
- ERP implementation experience, including Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Digital transformation experience.
Hours of Work:
- Full-time, permanent.
- Monday to Friday.
- Flexibility to travel to UK sites as required.
Work Location:
Northampton, with travel to UK sites.
