The Role

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a fast-growing fintech company undergoing an exciting technology transformation?

As part of a motivated and collaborative development team, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing and modernising the company's tech stack. This involves building a robust backend API, integrating third-party platforms, and rolling out innovative features to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

This is a PHP Laravel-focused position, but it also offers the opportunity to work with a diverse tech stack and contribute to a high-performing, scalable, and secure platform.

What makes you a great fit:

You're an experienced PHP developer with strong Laravel skills. You have a solid grasp of SOLID design principles, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have experience building robust, well-optimised APIs. Bonus points if you have worked with DevOps practices or modern tools like Docker or Kubernetes.

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a robust backend API using PHP Laravel.

• Enhance the platform with innovative new features that align with the product roadmap.

• Seamlessly integrate third-party APIs into the system.

• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to optimise deployment pipelines and platform scalability.

• Support application deployment and maintenance in a .Net/Azure environment.

Skills & Requirements:

Essential Skills:

• Advanced experience with PHP and Laravel.

• Strong understanding of SOLID design principles.

• Proficiency in MySQL, with a focus on database optimization.

• Strong understanding of API design and development.

• Experience with version control systems like Git.

Bonus Skills:

• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, including Docker or Kubernetes.

• Experience with Azure services for application hosting and management.

• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).

• Knowledge of Atlassian tools like Jira and Bitbucket.
