Account Director

About the Company

Our client is an established cyber security technology business with a strong presence across the UK public sector. They work with government bodies, healthcare organisations, education institutions, and other regulated environments — delivering complex, consultative cyber security solutions including managed services, vendor technology, and security consultancy. With a strong vendor ecosystem and experienced pre-sales and delivery teams behind you, this is a business built to support ambitious commercial growth.

The Role

This is a dual-focus Account Director role — combining the stewardship of a portfolio of strategic public sector accounts with a clear expectation to win net-new business within defined target accounts. You’ll own senior customer relationships, expand share of wallet across existing accounts, and proactively pursue new logo opportunities aligned to the company’s cyber security proposition. Acting as the primary commercial lead, you’ll work closely with pre-sales, delivery, and vendor partners to drive sustainable revenue growth. The right person will be equally comfortable building long-term strategic relationships and hunting new opportunities — credible at exec level and disciplined in pipeline management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own full commercial responsibility for an allocated public sector account portfolio, acting as the primary point of contact
  • Develop and execute account plans to drive growth, retention, and cross-sell across existing customers
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new logo opportunities within agreed target accounts
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders — technical, operational, and executive decision-makers
  • Lead discovery conversations to understand customer cyber risk, compliance obligations, and strategic priorities
  • Position appropriate cyber security solutions, services, and consultancy to meet customer needs
  • Own the full sales cycle from opportunity qualification through to close and ongoing account development
  • Collaborate with vendor partners on joint account planning, pipeline creation, and co-selling opportunities
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasting, and opportunity hygiene in line with sales governance
  • Achieve agreed revenue, pipeline, retention, and new business targets
