Mid Level Network Engineer

Network Engineer - Belfast Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 Our client, a global technology firm with a strong engineering culture and a fast-paced, low-latency infrastructure, is hiring a Network Engineer to support their continued growth in Belfast. This is an ideal opportunity for someone in the early stages of their networking career who's looking to gain hands-on experience and contribute to complex infrastructure in a live production environment. You'll be part of a globally distributed technical operations team, working closely with senior engineers to ensure network reliability, assist in incident response, and contribute to ongoing improvements in architecture and security posture. Key Responsibilities Keep a close eye on network health and traffic performance Act as the first point of contact for connectivity issues with clients and vendors Take part in DR testing and system resilience exercises Support day-to-day IT requests and hardware queries internally Help roll out new switches, firewalls, and related hardware Maintain up-to-date records, including diagrams and device configurations Contribute to the rollout of improved security policies and firewall rules Escalate more complex issues and work closely with experienced network engineers Manage access control and basic account permissions What You'll Bring Degree in networking, computer science, or similar field Around 1-3 years' experience in a network operations or NOC support role Strong grasp of common protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and core concepts like VLANs Exposure to Cisco hardware or similar enterprise-grade systems Any knowledge of multicast or cloud network architecture is welcome Experience using ticketing systems like Jira or ServiceNow Comfortable documenting changes, writing procedures, and updating topology maps Good generalist IT knowledge across Windows OS and productivity tools Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively Perks & Benefits Annual bonus scheme linked to company and individual performance Comprehensive private health insurance and life cover Employer pension contributions Flexible leave arrangements Opportunities to travel and engage with international colleagues Sociable office environment with regular team events and perks Centrally located, modern Belfast office Interested?
