This role suits an experienced engineer who has shipped production systems in sectors such as financial services, energy technology, or trading. The Opportunity Lead the end-to-end design of Python microservices deployed across AWS and on-prem hardware Build data capture and processing platforms using event-driven patterns and modern cloud tooling Champion CI and CD, branching strategy, and deployment automation to improve speed and reliability Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the UK, Ireland, and Europe on trading, monitoring, and optimisation systems Mentor engineers, support graduate development, and set technical direction Tech Environment Languages and frameworks: Python, FastAPI, GraphQL Strawberry, ETL pipelines Cloud and infrastructure: AWS EC2, ECS, ECR, RDS, IoT Core, IAM, MSK; Docker; Linux Data and messaging: Kafka MSK, MQTT, REST APIs, Redshift, SQL Tooling and practices: Bitbucket, CI and CD, trunk-based development, process automation What You Will Bring 6 plus years software engineering experience including client-facing delivery Strong commercial Python background; relevant certifications such as PCEP or PCAP are a plus Experience with event-driven architecture, microservices, and scalable data pipelines Proven leadership in mentoring, technical guidance, and graduate enablement Sector exposure to energy markets, trading platforms, or financial services is advantageous Whats On Offer Competitive base salary with options Influence over architecture and engineering standards A culture of innovation and continuous learning Cross-functional exposure across multiple markets and domains Interested?
