Senior Front End Engineer (Northern Ireland)

My client is seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer with deep expertise in React and experience working within AWS-based environments to help lead the development of high-performance, scalable user interfaces for a next-generation web platform. You’ll be joining a forward-thinking team of engineers and designers who are dedicated to building seamless digital experiences in a modern cloud-first stack.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the design and development of rich, user-centric front-end applications using React , TypeScript , and modern JavaScript libraries.
- Collaborating with product managers, designers, and back-end teams to deliver impactful features in a cloud-native architecture .
- Integrating front-end components with AWS-hosted services such as API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito, S3, and CloudFront.
- Driving front-end best practices in performance, accessibility, and testing.
- Mentoring junior developers and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of front-end development experience, with significant hands-on work in React .
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript , JavaScript (ES6+) , HTML5 , and CSS3/SASS .
- Experience working with AWS services , especially those relevant to front-end integration (e.g., S3, CloudFront, Cognito, API Gateway, Lambda).
- Solid understanding of state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand, or similar).
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks like Jest , React Testing Library , or Cypress .
- A strong grasp of responsive design, performance optimisation, and user-centric UI/UX.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience with server-side rendering frameworks like Next.js .
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., AWS CDK, Terraform).
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, particularly those running in AWS environments.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and design systems.
