We are urgently recruiting for a Complaints & Data Protection Case Coordinator to join a friendly and supportive Business Support & Compliance Team on a temporary basis. This is initially a 6-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension and the potential to become permanent for the right person.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys varied, meaningful casework where they can genuinely make an impact. You will be responsible for managing Complaints and Subject Access Requests (SARs) from start to finish, ensuring each case is handled accurately, professionally, and in line with strict legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Details
- Job Title: Complaints & Data Protection Case Coordinator
- Contract: Temporary (6 months initially, likely to be extended, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate)
- Start Date: Immediate start required
- Salary: £28,182 - £32,881 DOE
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (flexible working available)
- Working Model: Hybrid working available, with a fully remote option available
- Location: Office based in Gateshead. Successful applicants must be based within the North East and able to attend the Gateshead office for an initial training period. Following successful completion of training, there is the opportunity to work on a hybrid or remote basis, with occasional travel to the office required for meetings, training and business needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage Complaints and Subject Access Requests (SARs) from receipt through to full resolution
- Log, acknowledge, track, and monitor all cases in line with statutory deadlines
- Act as a key point of contact for queries relating to complaints and SARs
- Complete identity checks, information gathering, and SAR case preparation
- Collate and review documentation for disclosure, including basic redaction support
- Support the investigation and resolution of complaints in line with internal processes
- Liaise with internal departments to obtain required information within deadlines
- Maintain accurate, complete, and auditable case records using internal systems
- Draft professional correspondence, including acknowledgements, updates, and outcome letters
- Escalate risks, delays, and complex cases appropriately
- Ensure full compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018
- Support reporting on case volumes, trends, and performance
- Contribute to identifying recurring issues and continuous improvement opportunities
What We're Looking For
- Experience in an administrative, complaints, customer service, compliance, or case management environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling sensitive information
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems
- Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and data protection principles
- Ability to take ownership of cases and work independently
- A proactive, professional, and solution-focused approach
