Junior IT Technician - Entry-Level Opportunity

Location: Sherborne
Salary: Starting salary of £24,000 PA, rising to £25,000 PA after probation
Hours: 9am - 5.15pm Monday - Friday (1 hour lunch break)

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Junior IT Technician, you'll support the IT Manager in maintaining and improving the company's IT systems and infrastructure. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Providing first-line technical support via helpdesk, email, and phone.
  • Installing and configuring desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Assisting with software installation, updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Managing user accounts and access permissions.
  • Supporting network connectivity (Wi-Fi, VPN, LAN) and basic hardware troubleshooting.
  • Performing routine maintenance, backups, and system checks.
  • Documenting issues, resolutions, and system configurations.
  • Assisting with IT asset tracking and procurement.
  • Supporting compliance with cybersecurity and data protection policies.

What We're Looking For:

  • A strong interest in IT and technology.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A proactive, professional attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and software.
  • Ability to travel to other office locations when required.
