Performance Manager

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for leading the management, analysis, and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with a large, contract-driven operational environment. The Performance Manager will streamline and formalise processes to improve workflow efficiency, ensure contractual and legal compliance, and support continuous improvement across quality, environmental, and health & safety standards.

Working closely with senior managers, operational teams, and external stakeholders, the role plays a key part in ensuring performance data is accurate, meaningful, and clearly communicated.

Key Accountabilities

(Reporting to the Business Manager)

KPI Management & Reporting
  • Analyse, manage, and report on KPIs using performance dashboards
  • Produce clear performance analysis, highlighting trends, risks, and improvement areas
  • Collate and submit monthly, quarterly, annual, and business continuity reports in line with contractual requirements
Process & Systems Improvement
  • Implement and maintain monitoring systems for performance targets through process mapping
  • Develop, formalise, and communicate new or improved operational processes
  • Support the introduction, monitoring, and review of new systems and tools
Compliance & Audit
  • Maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS) through robust document control
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audit programmes
  • Ensure operational compliance with legal obligations and contract requirements
  • Manage and report non-compliance issues, including performance adjustments and financial penalties
Performance Strategy & Continuous Improvement
  • Support the development and delivery of performance improvement strategies
  • Carry out root cause analysis and support corrective action plans
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business
Communication & Engagement
  • Communicate performance information clearly through reports, presentations, and training sessions
  • Engage positively with teams to support understanding of performance expectations
  • Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing working environment
Meetings & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Attend and facilitate performance and compliance meetings
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders on performance matters
  • Support discussions relating to non-compliance and contractual performance
Health & Safety
  • Compile, analyse, and report health & safety statistics and exposure data
Other Duties
  • Carry out any additional reasonable tasks as requested to support the needs of the business
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in performance management, KPI analysis, and reporting within a complex operational environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance, and risk management processes
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Experience using business intelligence tools such as Power BI
  • Ability to implement and improve monitoring systems and processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preparing and delivering reports, presentations, and training sessions
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
