Contract Snr Business Analyst - Power Sales - £800/day - OUTSIDE IR35 - Hybrid/London

My client is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support the expansion of their Power Sales capabilities across Europe. You will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and IT solutions. Your expertise in the European power market, coupled with a deep understanding of ETRM systems and middle-to-back office processes, will be crucial in driving successful business and technology changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Programme Manager and key stakeholders to ensure business requirements align with project goals.
  • Act as a bridge between IT teams and business stakeholders, particularly in power trading environments.
  • Analyse, optimise, and enhance existing power trading systems.
  • Provide expertise in power deal lifecycle (trade capture, risk management, scheduling, invoicing, and settlements).
  • Support the Power Sales team in delivering technology-enabled business changes, with a strong focus on ETRM systems.
  • Define and document business requirements, ensuring solutions align with trading strategies.
  • Participate in testing processes (Unit, QA, UAT) to ensure successful delivery of system enhancements.
  • Develop and deliver training materials to support end-user adoption.
  • Drive continuous improvement through post-implementation reviews and system optimisation.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • European Power Market Expertise – Strong understanding of both physical and financial power markets, including capacity markets.
  • Power Deal Lifecycle – End-to-end knowledge of trade capture, risk management, scheduling, invoicing, and settlements.
  • Front Office Knowledge – Exposure to P&L reporting, exposure management, and front-office operations.
  • Commodities Market Experience – Proven experience in business analysis within commodities trading, specifically power trading.
  • Agile Delivery Experience – Familiarity with Agile frameworks, backlog management, and feature item development.
  • Stakeholder Management – Excellent ability to engage with IT teams, traders, and senior business leaders.
  • Problem-Solving & Adaptability – Capable of working in fast-paced environments with complex challenges.
