Consultant Software Developer

Salary: £55,000

Location : One Day a week in Crawley

We're looking for a Consultant Software Developer who thrives in a hands-on, technically challenging environment. This isn't a ticket-based support role it's an opportunity to contribute directly to architectural decisions, build scalable solutions from the ground up, and work closely with clients to solve meaningful business problems.

You'll operate in small project teams (or sometimes independently), across the full development lifecycle from business requirements through to deployment and optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions in line with client needs and business goals

• Lead or contribute to solution architecture, offering input into technology and design decisions

• Collaborate directly with clients to understand their operations and challenges

• Work across the full stack - backend through to frontend using modern development practices

• Take ownership of project delivery with an awareness of budgets and timelines

• Apply a problem-solving mindset and adapt quickly to different industries and business domains

Core Technical Skills Required

• C# / .NET (Core and Framework) strong backend development experience essential

• JavaScript and React for building responsive, user-friendly front-end applications

• Familiarity with API development (RESTful services)

• Experience with SQL Server and database integration

• Comfortable working in DevOps environments (CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated testing)

• Strong understanding of application architecture and scalable system design

• Experience integrating or modernising legacy systems is highly desirable

Other Valuable Experience

• Worked in small or cross-functional teams where you've had hands-on exposure across multiple areas

• Experience in a consulting or client-facing role with direct stakeholder engagement

• Awareness of project budgets, time constraints, and delivering value in real-world business contexts

• Comfortable working independently or leading aspects of a project lifecycle

• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure or AWS) is a bonus but not essential
