Migration Lead - Core Banking (Savings) | £650pd | Basingstoke | Contract

Overview Oliver James has partnered with a leading financial services organisation to support a major core banking transformation programme, focused on the migration of savings products onto a new platform.

This is a senior, programme-level role with full ownership of the end-to-end migration strategy and execution. You will be responsible for ensuring a controlled, compliant and customer-focused transition of legacy products and data, working across technology, operations, finance, risk and third-party vendors.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-impact migration within a regulated environment, with significant visibility across senior stakeholders and critical programme outcomes.

• Own the end-to-end migration strategy, planning and execution across savings products (ISA and non-ISA)
• Define migration approach (phased vs big bang), scope, tooling and acceptance criteria
• Lead data mapping, transformation, reconciliation and validation frameworks
• Manage integrated migration plan, including milestones, dependencies, rehearsal cycles and cutover
• Oversee dress rehearsals, defect resolution, go-live execution and rollback readiness
• Ensure full data integrity, auditability and traceability from source to target systems
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across Technology, Operations, Finance, Risk and Compliance
• Manage third-party vendors and system integrators across migration activities
• Ensure continuity of regulatory, financial and operational reporting through migration
• Support operational readiness, training, hypercare and post-migration validation

• Proven experience leading large-scale data migrations within financial services
• Strong knowledge of savings products (Fixed Term, Easy Access, Notice, ISA and non-ISA)
• Experience with core banking platforms (e.g. Mambu, Temenos, Finova, Salesforce or similar)
• Deep understanding of FCA/PRA regulated environments and stakeholder engagement
• Expertise in data migration disciplines including mapping, transformation, reconciliation and validation
• Experience managing cutover, dress rehearsals and migration risk
• Strong stakeholder management across business, technology and regulatory functions

• Experience delivering core banking transformation programmes
• Background in defining and implementing Target Operating Models (TOM)
• Exposure to regulatory reporting, data lineage and MI continuity frameworks
• Programme or project management certifications (MSP, PRINCE2, PMP)
• Experience working with system integrators and third-party vendors in complex environments
