Build. Teach. Deploy

We are partnered with a global Data & AI Consulting firm looking to completely re-imagine how they train and deploy their engineering talent.
You’ll start by helping shape a new generation of engineers — people learning how to build properly across cloud, software engineering, and modern platform environments. But this isn’t about slides or theory. It’s about teaching what actually works in production, based on your own experience.
Think cloud-native systems, real CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and AI-augmented engineering workflows — taught by someone who’s actually built and deployed them.
Then the role evolves.
As those engineers move into client environments, you go with them — not as a trainer, but as a consultant. You’ll stay hands-on, work directly with end clients, and take ownership of delivery. You’ll lead from the front, guiding both the technical direction and the teams you’ve helped develop.
It’s a deliberate blend: build capability, then deploy it.
The people who tend to lean into this are engineers with a strong foundation in software engineering, cloud, or platform/DevOps environments who’ve already operated in consulting or client-facing roles. They’ve built and run real systems, understand how things break at scale, and naturally find themselves mentoring others — whether through onboarding, internal training, or just being the person people turn to when things get complex.
You don’t need to have been a full-time instructor. But you do need to care about how systems are built, how engineers are developed, and how both hold up in real-world environments.
What makes this different is that you’re not stepping away from engineering to teach, and you’re not stuck purely delivering into clients without broader impact. You get both. You help shape how engineers are trained, and then you see that training play out in production — refining it as you go.
You’ll be working across modern engineering environments — cloud platforms, containerised systems, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code — with AI increasingly embedded into how software is built and operated .
If you’re starting to enjoy the mentoring side of engineering, but don’t want to lose the technical depth or the pace of real-world delivery, this is a rare opportunity to do both without compromise.
Skills & Experience Required
- Educated to degree level in a STEM subject; Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar
- A commercial background in building and delivering cloud and software engineering solutions end-to-end
- Strong experience across modern engineering environments — cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerisation, and observability
- Ability to lead, teach, and deploy teams of engineers into client environments, overseeing delivery and technical direction
- Strong consulting skills, with the ability to work directly with end customers to shape solutions and ensure successful execution
