Omnis Partners is exclusively partnering with a fast-growing AI startup helping enterprises move from AI experimentation to real-world, scalable deployment. Their platform enables organisations to build and operate AI agents at scale and they’re hiring a Principal Engineer to define and lead the technical direction.
This is a true ownership role, combining hands-on engineering with architectural leadership. You’ll shape how the platform scales, evolves, and performs as adoption grows.
🚀 The Role
You’ll sit at the intersection of product and engineering, translating vision into a scalable, production-grade platform. You’ll make key architectural decisions, guide technical direction, and set engineering standards across the stack.
🧠 Key Responsibilities
• Own end-to-end architecture across frontend, backend, AI orchestration, and infrastructure.
• Define engineering standards for scalability, quality, and delivery speed.
• Lead decisions on system design, APIs, data models, and service boundaries.
• Drive observability, reliability, CI/CD, and performance best practices.
• Translate product vision into clear technical roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers and lead architectural discussions.
• Champion AI-native engineering approaches.
🔧 What They’re Looking For
• Experience leading architecture in SaaS or platform environments.
• Strong distributed systems and full-stack background.
• Experience with multi-tenant, secure systems.
• Hands-on with TypeScript/React, Python, and relational databases.
• Strong API design and system design fundamentals.
• Clear communicator who can bridge technical and business teams.
• AI systems exposure is a plus, but strong engineering judgement is key.
