Commercial Director - Web3 Business Retreat

We are looking for the commercial leader who will help us make it the definitive event in this space and grow it year over year.
The Role
As Commercial Director, you will own the full commercial engine of the retreat. You will drive sponsorship revenue, lead the business development team, and close high-value partnerships that define the event's commercial success.
You will report directly to the CEO and work in close coordination with the Operations Director. This is a leadership role and sales role. You are expected to build structure, create accountability, and deliver results without being managed.
What You'll Own
- Sponsorship strategy and execution: identifying, pitching, and closing sponsors across finance, iGaming, blockchain infrastructure, and the broader digital economy
- BD team leadership: recruiting, coaching, and holding your business development team accountable to clear targets
- Pipeline and CRM ownership: managing the full commercial pipeline from first contact to signed contract
- Partner and speaker relations: nurturing relationships with institutional partners, sponsors, and high-value attendees
- Commercial reporting: delivering consistent pipeline updates and financial forecasts directly to the founding team
- International stakeholder communication: pitching, negotiating, and closing with decision-makers across multiple regions and time zones
Who You Are
- A proven commercial leader with a track record of closing high-value sponsorships or B2B deals: experience in events, Web3, fintech, or iGaming is a strong advantage
- Native-level English is imperative: you pitch, negotiate, and close at an executive level without hesitation. This is non-negotiable. Spanish is a meaningful plus
- A natural team leader who builds culture and accountability
- Highly organized, autonomous, and proactive: you follow up before being asked and flag issues before they become problems
- Someone who reads a CRM like a dashboard, not a chore
- You have skin in the game: you are not looking for a comfortable salary to coast on. You want to build something from the ground up and be rewarded in proportion to what you produce
Compensation
Performance-driven structure reflecting our belief that the best commercial talent wants to be rewarded for outcomes, not just effort. This includes a base retainer plus a competitive commission structure tied directly to revenue results. The right candidate will see this as an advantage, not a caveat.
