Package: £35,000 - £38,000 + Meaningful Bonus + Benefits

Required Background

  • Previous commercial experience in a System Administrator or IT Administrator role
  • Background in IT, computer science, information systems or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Experience supporting office, network, server and cloud environments
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-a-service platforms
  • Experience with:
  • Linux and Microsoft environments
  • Commercial ticketing systems
  • Wiki / knowledge-base platforms
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions
  • Network security and firewall technologies
  • Remote access technologies
  • Ability to identify and respond to security-related issues and incidents
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across hardware, software and networks

i️ Very Important Notes

  • This is a fully onsite position based in Gloucestershire
  • Occasional travel to other UK client sites is required (fully expensed)
  • Candidates must be eligible for and capable of holding UK Government Security Clearance (SC)
  • This is a hands-on role with active ownership of internal IT systems (not suitable for remote-only or purely strategic profiles)
  • You will help maintain and document processes aligned to recognised standards

Must-Haves

  • Strong experience managing internal IT systems (end-user, server, network and cloud)
  • Hands-on administration of Linux and Microsoft environments
  • Experience with server, desktop, network and cloud support
  • Knowledge of network security and firewall technologies
  • Experience using ticketing systems and knowledge-base tools
  • Experience with MDM platforms
  • Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot hardware and software
  • Experience maintaining documentation, procedures and system records
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, service-focused approach

Bonus Experience

  • Exposure to delivering technical remediation or improvement work for clients following technical assessments
  • Experience collaborating with assessment or consultancy teams to turn findings into practical actions
  • Prior involvement with ISO-aligned processes (e.g. ISO27001)
  • Microsoft desktop or cloud certifications
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members

What You’ll Be Doing

Infrastructure & Systems Administration

  • Manage and support internal IT systems across the organisation
  • Monitor the health, stability and security of the IT estate and respond to alerts
  • Maintain performance and resilience of core internal platforms
  • Implement appropriate security controls and help ensure systems remain compliant with internal standards
  • Keep IT processes and procedures fully documented and up to date

Service Quality & Remediation Delivery

  • Assist clients in implementing technical fixes and improvements following technical assessments
  • Deliver hands-on technical remediation work where required
  • Produce documentation, templates and supporting materials for service delivery and reporting
  • Translate technical findings into practical, actionable remediation tasks
  • Provide clear, high-quality documentation for delivery, project management, sales activity and client needs

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

  • Work closely with internal staff to support their day-to-day IT requirements
  • Liaise with technical teams to streamline delivery of remediation and improvement activities
  • Support leadership with continuous improvement initiatives across IT and related services
  • Contribute to the development of scalable processes and frameworks as service demand grows
