About the Role

Technical Project Managers are responsible for managing technical projects, ensuring successful delivery, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Project Management and Leadership:
  • Translate business and technical requirements into detailed project plans, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to uncover client use cases and integration needs.
  • Manage timelines, priorities, and resource allocations to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Assess day-to-day project issues, mitigate risks proactively, and identify solutions to technical challenges.
  • Rally technical and functional team members to resolve issues and ensure project success.

Client Relationship and Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during active engagements, providing clear and timely updates.
  • Partner with clients to deeply understand their evolving needs and propose solutions that drive business value.
  • Educate clients on Airtable's technical capabilities, integrations, and best practices to ensure successful adoption.
  • Build strong relationships that foster client trust and repeat business.

Technical Solution Scoping and Documentation:

  • Participate in pre-sales technical scoping calls and contribute to solution design discussions.
  • Develop technical scopes of work and solution architecture documentation aligned with client objectives.
  • Create detailed project documentation, including requirements gathering notes, process maps, data models, and interface specifications.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across Slack, Missive, Airtable, and other collaboration platforms.
  • Document key project decisions, technical designs, and implementation details for internal and client visibility.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills in both synchronous and asynchronous environments.

Quality Assurance and Delivery Excellence:

  • Champion quality throughout project execution, ensuring solutions meet client requirements and technical standards.
  • Lead user acceptance testing coordination, issue tracking, and resolution processes.
  • Drive projects toward successful delivery, positive client feedback, and 5-star reviews.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, documentation standards, and technical methodologies.
  • Provide insights and feedback to the Optimize IS team to enhance how we serve clients and manage projects.

Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of technical project management experience, ideally in SaaS implementations, software consulting, or systems integration.
  • Experience managing client-facing technical projects from scoping through delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Airtable's capabilities, including data modeling, automations, and interface design, or eagerness to quickly become an Airtable expert.
  • Ability to translate business processes into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, comfortable explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead remote teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, comfortable navigating ambiguity and dynamic project contexts.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality solutions and building lasting client relationships.
