An opportunity for an Engineering Team Lead to join a well established SaaS organisation, supporting and developing a team of engineers while shaping technical direction, architecture and delivery.
The position is a mix of hands on and leadership, but with a much heavier lean into the people side. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring and enabling others, while remaining technically credible and contributing where needed.
We’re looking for someone who leads by example, sets clear standards and genuinely enjoys helping engineers grow.
Experience required:
- Proven experience as a Team Leader or leading software engineers as a Senior Developer/Engineer
- Background as a Senior, Lead, Principal or Team Lead engineer
- Strong mentoring and coaching experience across different levels
- Comfortable setting expectations, managing performance and building culture
- Experience contributing to architecture and design decisions
- Ability to introduce and improve engineering standards, processes and metrics
- Still hands on and confident contributing to code when required
Tech environment:
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Python
- Django
- C# (.NET)
- Azure or AWS
- Kubernetes
- Docker
- Git
- Integration
- API
The role:
- Leading and supporting engineers day to day
- Coaching, mentoring and developing individuals
- Setting technical and behavioural standards
- Contributing to architecture and system design
- Improving processes and ways of working
- Staying close enough to the code to support delivery and technical direction
