DevOps Engineer

Location: London Rate: £500–£550 per day (Inside IR35) Sector: IT Contract Length: 12 months Overview Our client, a well-established software development company, is seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract. This is a hybrid role, primarily remote, with occasional onsite collaboration in Canary Wharf, London. The successful candidate will play a key role in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure, ensuring platform security, and supporting governance processes within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud platforms in Microsoft Azure
• Manage, configure, and optimize Linux-based virtual machines (VMs)
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Bicep
• Embed robust security practices into all aspects of the platform
• Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation to support ongoing operations
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with client governance frameworks
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across DevOps processes and tooling

Required Experience

• Proven track record in Azure cloud engineering and DevOps practices
• Strong background in Linux VM administration and automation
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for IaC development and deployment
• Familiarity with embedding security controls within cloud environments
• Ability to produce high-quality documentation and support governance standards

Technical Skills

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Bicep
• Containerisation: Kubernetes, Docker
• CI/CD Pipelines: GitLab CI, Jenkins
• Scripting & Automation: Python, PowerShell
