DevOps Engineer
Role: DevOps Engineer Location: Newcastle (Hybrid)Type: Contract Duration: 12 months Role Overview We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team in Newcastle on a 12-month contract. You will play a key role in building and maintaining development environments, implementing automation, and supporting continuous integration and delivery pipelines.You will work closely with development and testing teams to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable software delivery.Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with DevOps, development, and client teams to deliver robust environments and tools.
- Set up, configure, and maintain tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, and testing platforms.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous integration, testing, and delivery.
- Automate software development processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Develop and manage serverless integrations between systems using APIs.
- Support infrastructure provisioning and configuration using automation tools.
- Ensure high levels of system performance, security, and reliability.
- Hands-on experience with public or private cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts with practical experience using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or AWS Code Build.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as:
- Terraform
- AWS CloudFormation / CDK
- Expertise in configuration management tools:
- Ansible
- Puppet
- Chef
- Experience with containerization and orchestration:
- Docker / Docker Compose
- Kubernetes / OpenShift
- Working knowledge of Agile and Lean methodologies.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language:
- Python
- Bash
- PowerShell
- Node.js / TypeScript
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
