Head of Data London (Hybrid) Salary + Benefits - £100,000 to £120,000 depending on experience + share opions & benefits Lead, Build, and Shape the Future of Data We’re working with a fast-growing tech company that’s looking for an experienced and hands-on Head of Data Engineering. This is a key leadership role where you’ll take ownership of the data platform, lead a talented team, and help define the company’s data strategy as it scales.You’ll be joining a business that’s serious about data — not just as a function, but as a core driver of product, pricing, and decision-making. • Leading and developing a team of Data Engineers, creating a culture of ownership and growth
• Setting the direction for data engineering and aligning it with wider business goals
• Owning the architecture and reliability of the data platform — from ingestion to transformation and governance
• Working closely with Engineering, Analytics, Product, and Pricing teams to ensure priorities are aligned
• Driving improvements in tooling, infrastructure, and engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, observability)

Required Experience 

• Proven experience leading Data Engineering teams 
• Strong technical background (5+ years) in building scalable data platforms
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Hands-on experience with modern data tools and technologies — Python, SQL, Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, Spark, AWS, Terraform
• A collaborative mindset and a passion for mentoring and developing others
• Comfortable balancing technical decisions with business needs

Nice to have: experience with Data Mesh, real-time streaming (Kafka/Kinesis), or MLOps frameworks.What’s on Offer
