Contract Lead Technical Architect (Apigee)

Location: Fully Remote

Duration: 3 Months + Extensions

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Rate: £500pd - £850pd

Opus is partnering with a leading consultancy on a major public sector project. We're looking for an experienced Lead Technical Architect with strong Apigee expertise to provide strategic direction, engage senior stakeholders, and ensure delivery quality across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and oversee technical architecture for API management and integration
• Review and challenge technical plans, designs, and delivery quality
• Engage with senior stakeholders to align architecture with business objectives
• Drive migration from Apigee Edge to Apigee X
• Ensure scalability, security, and resilience in platform design

• Apigee Edge & Apigee X
• AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, DynamoDB, S3)
• Azure DevOps CI/CD
• GitHub Workflows
• Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible)
• Python, Node.js, Docker

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Technical Architect in large-scale API projects
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
• Expertise in API security and lifecycle management
• Familiarity with distributed systems and performance optimization
