Type: Permanent

An established organisation in Manchester is seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Technical Consultant to take ownership of their BC platform during a phase of ongoing system migrations and optimisation.

This role sits within a small, hands-on IT applications function and is ideal for someone who enjoys being the go-to technical owner for Business Central in a live end-user environment. You will play a key role in migrating multiple entities from Navision to Business Central, improving the platform, and supporting the wider business as BC evolves.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical owner of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Lead and support migrations from Navision to Business Central across multiple entities
  • Provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and system optimisation
  • Own upgrades, configurations, extensions, and integrations within the BC landscape
  • Work closely with finance and operational teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Support BAU while contributing to longer-term system improvements and governance
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and performance across the platform
  • Liaise with external partners and vendors where required

Required Experience

  • Strong, hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Previous involvement in Navision to Business Central migrations
  • Solid technical background including AL development and SQL
  • Good understanding of finance processes (GL, AR, AP, etc.)
  • Comfortable working in an end-user environment rather than consulting-only roles
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of a critical business system

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting BC across multiple countries or legal entities
  • Exposure to system integrations and third-party add-ons
  • Background in application support, ERP ownership, or internal IT teams

What’s on Offer

  • Salary up to £70,000, depending on experience
  • Hybrid working with minimum one day per week in Manchester
  • Opportunity to genuinely own and shape the BC environment
  • Long-term, stable role within a business investing in its systems
