DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a MOD DV DevOps Engineer to join a team in Bristol, contributing to the full lifecycle of cutting-edge projects. This role demands a proactive individual who stays ahead of technological trends to drive efficiency and innovation. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and reliability of our solutions for end clients. We are looking for a mid-level DevOps professional with strong leadership qualities and a passion for guiding junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and manage scalable, secure infrastructure leveraging Terraform.
• Enhance infrastructure performance, availability, and cost-efficiency.
• Partner with software engineers to meet application demands.
• Uphold top-tier system security standards.
• Spearhead troubleshooting initiatives for infrastructure challenges.
• Engage with third-party cloud/technical DevOps partners.
• Contribute to innovative defence projects, including sensor and cloud integration platforms.

Desired Qualifications

• Robust expertise in IaC with tools such as Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for cluster deployment and management.
• Skill in deploying VPN solutions and overlay services.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL environments.
• Proficiency with DevOps tools (Git, Docker, Jenkins).
• Deep understanding of networking (IP Protocol, DNS, load balancing).
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt swiftly.
• Outstanding communication skills, tailored for explaining technical concepts in a defence setting.

This position is based in Bristol and requires on-site presence four days a week. As our client collaborates closely with the MOD on highly secure initiatives, MOD DV clearance is essential for this role.
