Location: UK (home-based with travel to client site approx. 2 days per week)

The opportunity:

This is a senior, high-impact role working across complex, mission-critical public sector programmes. You’ll lead security architecture across large-scale digital transformation initiatives, helping organisations modernise legacy systems while embedding secure-by-design principles from day one.

You’ll operate as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, combining deep technical expertise with strong commercial awareness to shape solutions that are secure, scalable and deliver real value.

The role sits at the intersection of strategy and delivery. You’ll be involved end-to-end, from bid work and pre-sales through to architecture, build, assurance and live services.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead security architecture across complex public sector digital programmes
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders
  • Shape end-to-end solutions across bid, pre-sales, design, delivery and assurance
  • Drive secure-by-design principles and security best practice across engagements
  • Own security risk management, assurance and alignment to recognised frameworks
  • Lead on high-assurance programmes including support for Authority to Operate
  • Coach and mentor delivery teams, setting standards and driving quality
  • Contribute to bids, proposals and broader business development activity
  • Support the growth and maturity of the cyber security capability

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience as a Principal Security Architect or similar senior role
  • Proven background delivering within UK public sector or government environments
  • Experience across the full cyber security lifecycle, from bid to delivery
  • Blend of technical depth and commercial awareness
  • Strong knowledge across areas such as security architecture, cloud security, DevSecOps, IDAM/PAM and security assurance
  • Experience working on high-assurance or regulated programmes
  • Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
  • SC clearance eligibility
