Head of Product
🌟 Founding Head of Product | Applied AI / Physical AI
🤝 The Orbis Product Recruitment Team is partnering with a venture-backed AI company operating at the forefront of the emerging "physical AI" space. Having raised over $40m and already achieved significant commercial traction, the business is building AI systems that help some of the world's largest industrial organisations understand, optimise and operate complex physical environments. Rather than applying AI to purely digital workflows, they're tackling real-world operational challenges across critical industries.
📈 They are hiring a Founding Head of Product to take ownership of product strategy, roadmap, user experience and adoption across a rapidly scaling platform. Working directly with the founders, engineering leadership and customers, you'll help shape how cutting-edge AI capabilities are transformed into intuitive products that deliver measurable value in highly complex operational environments.
🔎 This is not a conventional product leadership role. The founders are looking for someone with exceptional product instinct and customer empathy. Someone who can spend time with users, understand what they actually need beneath surface-level requests, simplify complexity, and create products that become indispensable to daily workflows. This will initially be an individual contributor role with significant autonomy and ownership, with the opportunity to build the product function over time.
👤 The ideal candidate will have built products in a venture-backed software company between Seed and Series B, working closely with founders through periods of rapid growth, ambiguity and change. Their background may come from high-growth B2B SaaS, infrastructure software, platform products or workflow-heavy enterprise environments. They are particularly interested in people who have built "invisible products" that users rely on every day but rarely think about, where sophisticated technology is hidden behind an intuitive and seamless experience.
💡 Prior energy or industrial domain experience is not required. The founders believe domain expertise can be taught. Product judgement, customer intuition, communication skills and strategic thinking are much harder to find. A genuine interest in AI, emerging technologies and the future of intelligent software is essential.
🌍 Remote-first (UK), with international travel approximately twice per quarter to spend time with customers and understand operational environments first-hand.
💰 Up to £140,000 base salary + bonus + meaningful equity.
📞 If you're excited by frontier AI, category-defining products, high ownership environments and solving real-world operational problems at global scale, we'd love to hear from you.
