Principal AI Architect | Investment Manager

Principal Architect | Enterprise AI | Asset Manager | £200k base + bonus

I'm working with a global asset manager who are looking for a Principal Architect to help define how AI is adopted and scaled across a global organisation.

This is a strategic architecture role focused on building the foundations that enable engineering teams to deliver AI consistently, securely and at scale. Rather than developing individual AI applications, you'll establish enterprise standards, reference architectures and platform strategy that will shape AI adoption across the business.

You'll work closely with senior technology leadership to define the next generation of enterprise AI capabilities, influencing platform decisions, governance and best practices across a large, complex tech estate.

Responsibilities:

• Define enterprise AI architecture, standards and reference patterns.
• Shape AI platform strategy and long-term architectural direction.
• Enable engineering teams through reusable AI capabilities and architectural guidance.
• Drive the adoption of Generative AI and Agentic AI across the organisation.
• Establish governance, guardrails and best practices for enterprise AI.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and translate them into scalable enterprise solutions.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across technology and the wider business.

You will have experience in :

• Enterprise or Principal Architecture within a large organisation.
• Generative AI, LLMs and Agentic AI.
• AI platforms, RAG and modern AI architectures.
• AWS cloud technologies.
• Defining enterprise architecture standards and technical strategy.
• Working closely with senior technology stakeholders.

I'm particularly interested in candidates who have progressed through AI, Machine Learning or Data Science before moving into architecture, and who remain technically credible while operating at a strategic level.

Financial Services experience is highly desirable but not essential.
