Our client is a fast-growing organisation in the energy sector and is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join their team.

Responsibilities for the Senior Java Developer role include:

• Build and maintain back-end applications in the data sharing domain.
• Assist with onboarding parties that want access to customer energy data (e.g. energy price comparison platforms).
• Contribute to process optimisation within the organisation, for example by participating in the Community of Practice for developers.
• Work as part of an Agile SAFe team (office days are Tuesday and Thursday).

Candidates applying for the Senior Java Developer role will need:

• OAuth 2.x / OpenID Connect
• At least 5 years of Java experience
• Recent experience with Java (17+)
• Frameworks: Spring Boot
• AWS

Desirable skills for the Senior Java Developer role include:

• Experience in the energy sector
• Agile/Scrum SAFe experience
• Asynchronous messaging (Apache Kafka)
• Relational databases (AWS Aurora MySQL/MariaDB preferred)
• Git (GitLab preferred)
• Build tools such as Gradle / Maven
• SonarQube / SonarCloud
• Container orchestration platforms (RedHat OpenShift / Kubernetes preferred)
• CI/CD: Helm Charts, ArgoCD
• Contract-driven development (OpenAPI)
• MySQL & PostgreSQL
