Who we are
We are Ordnance Survey, Great Britain's national mapping service and a global leader in geospatial data and technology. For over 230 years, our data has helped governments, businesses and communities make better decisions about the world around them.
The Opportunity
At Ordnance Survey, we're committed to delivering trusted geospatial data and services that help government organisations make better decisions, improve public services and deliver value for citizens across Great Britain.
We're looking for a Public Sector Investment Delivery Manager to ensure the successful delivery of customer-funded investments in better data and services. This is a high-profile, customer-facing role that sits at the heart of our Public Sector business, working closely with government stakeholders and internal teams to ensure commitments are delivered effectively and customer outcomes are achieved.
As a key link between customers, stakeholders and service leadership, you'll be responsible for ensuring customer contractual obligations are met, and customer benefits are realised. You'll build strong collaborative relationships through the service operating model, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure investment programmes deliver measurable customer value while meeting contractual and strategic objectives.
Working across multiple teams and disciplines, you'll provide leadership, oversight and coordination to ensure customer requirements are understood and delivery remains in line with agreed customer expectations.
What You'll Do
Investment Delivery
Ensure all customer contractual obligations are delivered to the required standards, maintaining focus on outcomes, milestones and agreed deliverables.
Progress & Risk Management
Monitor delivery progress from the customer's perspective, identify issues early and coordinate communications with the customer accordingly to keep delivery of their investments in line with their expectations.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work collaboratively across OS through the service operating model to ensure aligned delivery of investment outcomes and consistent execution by bringing the customer voice into the business.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and government partners, acting as a credible and confident representative for customer investment delivery in OS.
Forward Planning & Risk Anticipation
Proactively identify risks and emerging customer needs. Work collaboratively with service leadership to ensure forward-looking plans and responses are in place.
Governance & Reporting
Prepare clear performance updates, dashboards and reporting, ensuring stakeholders have visibility of progress, risks and outcomes.
Commercial & Strategic Alignment
Support decision-making by connecting customer investment delivery to wider organisational objectives, value and impact.
About You
You are a commercial, customer focused professional with a strong track record of delivery, particularly with managing complex programmes or customer investments, and a clear ability to coordinate activity, manage risk and drive outcomes.
Experience ensuring external customer investment programmes, contracts or complex services deliver the outcomes the customer is expecting, ideally within public sector or regulated environments
Strong understanding of governance frameworks, contractual obligations and delivery oversight
Experience interpreting complex requirements and working with the business to translate them into actionable delivery plans
Skilled in managing risks, issues and mitigation activity
Strong stakeholder management capability, including experience working with senior external partners or government stakeholders
Experience producing performance reports, dashboards or updates to support decision-making
Confident communicator, able to present complex information clearly and effectively speaking in both internal and external languages
Strong organisational capability, able to manage multiple priorities and competing demands
Comfortable working across matrix environments, coordinating activity across teams
Location
We embrace a hybrid working model at OS, because we believe in flexibility and balance. You'll be based at our fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire, where you'll spend a minimum of 3 days of your working week collaborating face-to-face with colleagues. It's all about combining the best of both worlds connection and autonomy to help you thrive.
Closing date: Monday 31 August 2026 @23:59
Interviews are scheduled to take place in person at Ordnance Survey Head office.
Inclusion
We are happy to consider any reasonable adjustments that people may need during the recruitment process, and you will be asked whether you require any during the application process.
Research indicates that women, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQ+ community members, neurodiverse individuals, and people from ethnic minority backgrounds often hesitate to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Ordnance Survey, we are dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and genuine workplace where everyone can thrive. If you're enthusiastic about this role but your experience doesn't perfectly match every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might be the ideal candidate for this or other roles within Ordnance Survey.
