About the Role

As a Senior Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and delivering high-quality AI-driven software solutions that form complete, integrated services. You'll lead technical delivery and champion best practices across the engineering lifecycle

What You'll be doing

• Lead technical delivery on complex projects, collaborating with architects, delivery managers, and stakeholders

• Continuously improve engineering capability through coaching, mentoring, and technical leadership

• Operate and enhance production services for robustness, resilience, and stability

• Share knowledge and best practices and identify training opportunities for the team

• Communicate goals and technical issues effectively across teams

• Provide line management to Engineers and Associate Engineers (as required)

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a senior developer in backend development

• Strong skills in Python, SQL and cloud-based AI frameworks (e.g Databricks, azure AI services)

• Proficient with Azure-based software development including Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, Entra ID RBAC and Azure Services

• Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and agile delivery

• Experience with geospatial data, REST APIs, JSON and spatial query engines (e.g. Apache Spark)

• Experience with Generative AI technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and Prompt/Context Engineering

• Passion for continuous improvement and delivering high-quality solutions

Location

We embrace a hybrid working model at OS. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be based and required to spend 2-3 days a week.
