About the Role
As a Senior Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and delivering high-quality AI-driven software solutions that form complete, integrated services. You'll lead technical delivery and champion best practices across the engineering lifecycle
What You'll be doing

Lead technical delivery on complex projects, collaborating with architects, delivery managers, and stakeholders

Continuously improve engineering capability through coaching, mentoring, and technical leadership

Operate and enhance production services for robustness, resilience, and stability

Share knowledge and best practices and identify training opportunities for the team

Communicate goals and technical issues effectively across teams

Provide line management to Engineers and Associate Engineers (as required)
What We're Looking For
-
Proven experience as a senior developer in backend development
-
Strong skills in Python, SQL and cloud-based AI frameworks (e.g Databricks, azure AI services)

Proficient with Azure-based software development including Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, Entra ID RBAC and Azure Services

Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and agile delivery

Experience with geospatial data, REST APIs, JSON and spatial query engines (e.g. Apache Spark)

Experience with Generative AI technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and Prompt/Context Engineering

Passion for continuous improvement and delivering high-quality solutions

Location
We embrace a hybrid working model at OS. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be based and required to spend 2-3 days a week.
