About the role

As a Senior Technology Service Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational excellence of our Distributing services. You will lead and oversee Service Management processes, drive performance ensuring KPIs and customer expectations are met, ensure compliance with relevant standards and domain best practice (including security), whilst also managing operational issues & risks.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and coach Technology Service Managers, fostering collaboration, accountability and high performance across service teams

  • Own service management excellence, overseeing Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management to minimise operational impact

  • Define, monitor and improve service performance through clear KPIs, OLAs and regular service reviews

  • Ensure effective monitoring and alerting for critical services, enabling proactive issue detection and resolution

  • Maintain robust service documentation, including architecture, configuration and maintenance roadmaps

  • Champion security, resilience and compliance, ensuring adherence to standards, regulations and best practice

  • Support service continuity, promoting Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning, testing and continual improvement

  • Identify, manage and escalate operational risks and issues, focusing effort on what makes the biggest difference

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers, building shared understanding and alignment with business priorities

  • Enable smooth change into live service, ensuring operational requirements are embedded and transitions are well managed

  • Manage service costs responsibly, creating estimates, monitoring spend and ensuring value for money

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate the skills and experience needed for this role and who aligns with our principles.

You'll bring:

  • Expertise in ITIL 4 processes is Essential - (Incident, Problem, Change & Release Management)

  • Proven track record in Technology Service Management at a Senior level

  • Good understanding of online ordering, fulfilment & distribution services, ideally including APIs

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop and potentially manage teams and individuals

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to manage complex issues and drive continuous improvement
