Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineer
Salary: £55,000 basic night shift allowance, on-call payment and overtime available (realistic earnings £65,000)
Due to a growing pipeline of work, we're looking for an Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to join a busy maintenance team supporting three major contracts.
Working within a highly skilled maintenance team, you'll be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, controls support and instrumentation activities across critical facilities. The role combines both day and night shifts and offers excellent earning potential through overtime and on-call responsibilities.
Details about this Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineer role:
- Planned and reactive maintenance on electrical, controls and instrumentation systems.
- Working across both day and night shifts (4 nights per week - between 12am-4am - nice short shift!!).
- Planned shutdown work carried out between 12am-4am.
- Ensuring SLA targets are met on maintenance activities.
- Fault finding on dampers, flow switches and other instrumentation equipment.
- Remote and on-site support as part of an on-call rota after around 3 months - Approximately 90% of issues are resolved remotely.
Controls Experience Required for this Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineer role:
- PLC fault finding and troubleshooting (essential).
- SCADA experience or exposure (essential).
- HMI and I/O knowledge highly desirable.
- PLC programming experience would be a significant advantage.
Requirements for this Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineer role:
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical or equivalent.
- 18th Edition (essential).
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (preferred).
- LVAP experience.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong hands-on electrical maintenance background.
