Financial Controller
Our client is a growing technology business who is seeking to hire a Financial Controller to take ownership of their UK&I business. The role will manage and develop a team of 7 leading the day to day finance operations, financial reporting, management accounting, forecasting, budgeting and business partnering.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting, Month-End Close & Year-End Reporting
- Produce monthly management accounts
- Ensure accuracy of P&L, balance sheet and cashflow
- Review and approve journals, accruals, prepayments
- Oversee liquidity and intercompany reporting
- Prepare year-end Group reporting pack for UK&I
- Lead and manage annual audit process with external auditors
- Review statutory accounts for signing
- Monthly review of IFRS 16 postings correctly reflect contracts in place
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead annual budgeting for financial elements including depreciation, capex, payroll, balance sheet and cashflow
- Indirect cost centre budget support
Cashflow Management
- Monitor cashflow daily/weekly
- Manage payments, receipts, and working capital
- Forecast short-term and long-term cash needs
- Work with Group Treasury on facilities if needed
- Ensure payment practices reporting is completed and maintained in line with statutory requirements
Financial Controls & Compliance
- Balance sheet review and control is key
- Implement and maintain internal controls in line with internal delegation of authority document
- Ensure proper policies and procedures are followed
- Manage VAT, payroll taxes, Corporation Tax submissions (external tax advisors)
- Managing and reporting local taxes including CIS, RCT, and VAT on a periodic basis as well as ONS returns.
- Monthly payroll checks and BACS submission
Team Management
- Oversee the finance team of 7 (accounting and accounts assistants)
- Delegate tasks and ensure accuracy in processing
- Encourage empowerment and ownership
Systems & Process Improvement
- SAP S4HANA
- Improve finance processes
- Automate where possible to reduce manual work
Business Partnering
- Indirect cost centres monthly reporting and budget tracking
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure key cost drivers are accurately accrued and provided for (fleet, insurance, payroll)
- Understand any risk areas or change across the business that may impact on financial results
- Identify cost savings, efficiencies, and margin improvements
A salary of £70,000-£80,000 is on offer plus £6,000 car allowance and upto 10% bonus.
