Cyber Security Consultant | £40-52k DOE | Portsmouth (Hybrid)Are you passionate about cyber security and enjoy helping organisations solve complex security challenges We're partnering with a growing consultancy that is looking to strengthen its cyber capability with the addition of a Cyber Security Consultant. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team delivering security and risk management services to clients operating in complex and highly regulated environments.You'll work closely with customers to understand their business risks, assess their cyber security posture, and deliver pragmatic, cost-effective solutions that support their wider objectives. The role offers exposure to a broad range of engagements and the chance to develop into a trusted advisor to clients.What you'll be doing:As a Cyber Security Consultant, you'll support clients across a variety of cyber security and risk management activities, including:Understanding business drivers, cyber threats and risk landscapesAssessing cyber security maturity and producing improvement roadmapsIdentifying, analysing and managing cyber risks at both technical and business process levelsReviewing the effectiveness of security controls and recommending proportionate improvementsConducting risk assessments, site visits and threat assessmentsLeading client interviews and investigations to determine business impactsProducing high-quality reports and communicating findings to technical teams and senior stakeholdersApplying recognised frameworks and best practice approaches, including ISO 27001, NIST and similar standardsResearching security technologies and contributing to the development of innovative solutionsSupporting business development activities and the production of client proposalsWhat we're looking for:We're interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate:Experience within cyber security consultancy, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), or information security assuranceA strong understanding of cyber security principles, architectures and technical controlsPractical experience applying risk management and assurance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST or similarExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present security advice clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesStrong stakeholder management and relationship-building skillsExperience working within complex or regulated sectors, such as Defence, Government, Financial Services, Energy or Telecommunications etcAn understanding of operating within high-assurance or security-sensitive environmentsWhy join You'll be joining a business that places a strong emphasis on integrity, collaboration and delivering successful outcomes for its customers.
