2nd Line Support / Hybrid / Inside IR35

Job Title: 2nd Line Support Engineer (Contract) Location: Hybrid - London (2-3 days on-site) Duration: 6 Months IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Rate: Competitive (DOE)

We're looking for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. Working in a hybrid capacity (2-3 days in our London office), you'll provide hands-on support to end users, handling escalations from 1st line, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations across the business.

This role falls inside IR35, and you'll need to work via an umbrella company or PAYE.

• Provide 2nd line technical support across hardware, software, and networking issues.

• Resolve escalated tickets from the 1st line team, ensuring timely resolution and excellent user experience.

• Support Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and standard enterprise tools.

• Manage user accounts, access permissions, and group policies.

• Troubleshoot network connectivity, VPN, and printing issues.

• Liaise with third-party vendors and escalate complex issues to 3rd line where required.

• Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, fixes, and procedures.

• Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.

• Proven experience in a 2nd Line Support role within an enterprise or mid-sized environment.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows OS, and Active Directory.

• Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).

• Understanding of networking basics - DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP.

• Experience with remote desktop tools and endpoint management solutions.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Exposure to SCCM, Intune, or similar device management platforms.

• ITIL Foundation certification or experience in ITIL-based environments.

• Experience working in a regulated or corporate environment.
