The RoleAs an AI Engineer, you will head up the design, build, and optimisation of our data infrastructure, automation solutions, and AI-driven tools. Leading Data Architecture, MarTech, AI & Automation, you will ensure that data flows seamlessly across the business and is harnessed effectively to drive client performance.
This role requires a mix of technical expertise, leadership, and client-facing skills. You will manage and develop team members, oversee data engineering projects, and take ownership of the agency's core data pipelines and platforms using Artificial Intelligence. You will also play a key role in exploring and embedding automation and AI technologies to keep our solutions future-focused.

Key ResponsibilitiesData Engineering & Architecture
- Lead the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL processes, and warehouse architecture (GCP, Azure).
- Ensure high-quality, scalable, and secure data infrastructure that supports campaign reporting and advanced analytics.
- Design and support the delivery of AI and automation solutions both internally and for clients.
- Work with the Data Architecture and AdOps teams to streamline data integration from media platforms, ad servers, and MarTech tools.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and mentor data engineers and analysts within the data function, fostering growth and technical excellence.
- Provide technical guidance and enforce best practices across coding, documentation, and deployment.
- Act as a galvanising force within the data team, ensuring collaboration across Analytics, Data Architecture, AdOps, and Software Development.
Client Servicing & Collaboration
- Partner with client services and other internal teams to design bespoke data solutions that answer client needs.
- Present technical solutions internally and to clients in an accessible way, demonstrating the value of our data offering.
- Support non-technical teams in pitches with data-driven solutions and prototypes.
You are both a builder and a leader, equally comfortable designing robust data pipelines as you are motivating a team and engaging with clients. You are ambitious, commercially aware, and excited about using automation and AI to future-proof the agency's data offering.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related role within a media agency, consultancy, or fast-paced business.
- Strong programming skills in Python, with experience building automation workflows, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Exposure to AI/ML frameworks (e.g. OpenAI, LangChain, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Solid knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (GCP & Azure preferred).
- Strong understanding of data modelling, transformation, and orchestration (e.g. dbt, Airflow, Azure Data Factory).
- Familiarity with digital marketing data flows (e.g. GA4, ad servers, programmatic platforms, CRMs).
- Proven ability to manage or mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and fostering collaboration.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and clients.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with DevOps and version control practices (Git, CI/CD pipelines, containers).
- Understanding of marketing technology ecosystems (e.g. ad platforms, CRM integrations).
- Hands-on experience with Power BI or other visualisation platforms.
