Role Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Cloud/Virtualization Specialist to join a leading enterprise IT team in London. This role focuses on storage optimisation across virtualised and hybrid cloud environments, implementing thin provisioning, managing VM disk efficiency, and enhancing overall storage performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive storage optimisation initiatives across virtualised environments and hybrid cloud platforms.

  • Implement and manage thin provisioning policies to reduce storage waste and improve utilisation.

  • Proactively monitor and optimise virtual machine disk usage, including rightsizing and performance tuning.

  • Support hybrid infrastructure by managing storage across on-premise and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS).

  • Work with infrastructure, platform, and DevOps teams to ensure consistent storage strategies and practices.

  • Analyse storage trends and produce reports to support capacity planning and cost optimisation.

  • Contribute to backup, disaster recovery, and data lifecycle management strategies.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Solid experience in virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Hyper-V).

  • Strong expertise in enterprise storage management, thin provisioning, deduplication, and disk optimisation.

  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.

  • Hands-on with SAN/NAS, storage tiering, and virtualised storage arrays.

  • Good scripting/automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

  • Strong troubleshooting and performance analysis capabilities.

Additional Information:
  • On-site only: 5 days per week in Central London.

  • Inside IR35: This role falls within IR35 legislation and will require working through an approved umbrella company.
