Mid-Level Software Engineer - Liverpool (Hybrid - 2 days in office) - £40,000 - £50,000

My client is a fast-growing FinTech business based in Liverpool, building secure, high-volume payment and financial data platforms used by thousands of UK customers every day. They're scaling their engineering team and are looking for a Software Engineer who enjoys solving real problems and influencing technical direction.

The Role

Current and upcoming projects include:

  • Modernising legacy systems into cloud-native microservices
  • Building high-performance APIs for real-time financial transactions
  • Improving scalability, security, and resilience across Azure
  • Influencing architectural decisions and mentoring junior developers
Tech Stack
  • C# / .NET 6+
  • ASP.NET Core / Web APIs
  • Azure (App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Azure SQL)
  • SQL Server
  • Entity Framework Core
  • CI/CD (Azure DevOps)
  • Docker (nice to have)
  • React or Angular exposure is a bonus, not a must
What They're Looking For
  • Strong commercial experience as a Senior Software Engineer
  • Deep knowledge of C# and the .NET ecosystem
  • Experience building and consuming APIs
  • Solid understanding of cloud-based systems (Azure preferred)
  • Someone who enjoys mentoring, code reviews, and raising engineering standards
  • Comfortable working hybrid (2 days a week in Liverpool office)
