I'm working with a fast-growing FinTech scale-up based in Manchester that are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a highly capable engineering team and play a key role in shaping the next phase of their platform.

This is a genuine opportunity to work on meaningful, high-traffic systems while still having a strong voice in technical decisions.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be part of a cross-functional product team of 8 engineers, working closely with Product Managers, QA, and UX. You'll be hands-on with development while also influencing architecture, mentoring others, and driving engineering best practices.

Projects you'll be involved in include:
  • Building and evolving cloud-native .NET services that process millions of transactions
  • Designing scalable APIs and modernising legacy components
  • Improving system performance, reliability, and security
  • Contributing to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps
  • Mentoring mid-level engineers and reviewing code
Tech Stack
  • C# / .NET 6+
  • ASP.NET Core & Web APIs
  • Azure (App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Azure SQL)
  • SQL Server
  • Entity Framework Core
  • CI/CD using Azure DevOps
  • Microservices & event-driven architecture
  • React exposure is a bonus, but not essential
Essential Experience
  • Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET
  • Experience building scalable, production-ready systems
  • Comfortable working in Azure-hosted environments
  • A pragmatic engineer who enjoys clean code and collaboration
  • Someone happy to mentor and influence without being overly hierarchical
Benefits Package
  • £55,000 - £65,000 salary
  • Hybrid working: 2 days per week in the Manchester office
  • 10% annual bonus
  • Pension matched up to 6%
  • Private healthcare
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (with buy/sell options)
  • Dedicated learning & certification budget
  • Modern Manchester city-centre office with flexible working hours
  • Regular team socials, hack days, and innovation time

This iis a role where you'll be trusted, listened to, and given the freedom to build things properly - all while working with modern Microsoft tech and a team that genuinely enjoys engineering.

If you're a Senior Software Engineer looking for a balanced, interesting role, apply now for immediate consideration.
